Dalton Massey claimed the win in the steer wrestling at the Washington State Fair Pro Rodeo in Puyallup over the weekend. A 3.5-second run in the Short Round secured Massey a $13,000 check to add to his already record-breaking regular season earnings.
Massey currently holds the No. 1 spot in the World Standings in the steer wrestling leading over No. 2 cowboy Tyler Waguespack by about $20,000.
“I’ll keep backing in there and trying to win,” said Massey.
The other finalists were Dakota Eldridge (3.9 seconds), Ty Erickson (4.2 seconds) and Kyler Dick (4.9 seconds).
Massey’s season has already broken the steer wrestling regular season earnings record and will likely add to his total of $166,459 with this qualification to the Governor’s Cup.
