Western Community and The Cowboy Channel Team Up to Help the Trenten Montero Foundation and Family

The Cowboy Channel is proud to have raise over $40,000 total for Montero’s family

Last summer the rodeo community lost a great Bareback Rider and an even better person in Trenten Montero. The Cowboy Channel Founder, Patrick Gottsch, knew the rodeo world would help out if they knew how. While talking to Mason Clements in Rapid City he came up with the idea to help the family by selling trading cards with a portion of the proceeds going back to the Trenten Montero Foundation.

“Met Mason (Clements) up in Rapid City after the unfortunate event and they wanted to do something. I’ve always wanted to do trading cards for the NFR so let’s see if we can make that into a fundraiser, and it worked.”

Trading Cards were created for the NFR athletes with a portion of the sales going to the family and foundation. This week, the Montero family was presented with a check after the rodeo community banded together in support as they so often do.

In total, the trading cards helped raise $21,000 for the family, Patrick Gottsch also announced that The Cowboy Channel had matched that with an additional $21,000 towards the Foundation.

Clements touched on how important a foundation like the Trenten Montero Foundation will be moving forward.

“The family’s focus needs to be on the family and the foundation’s focus is going to be on how to help that family grow and continue on with their life and to enjoy rodeo again.”
