Four-time NFR Qualifier Leighton Berry will miss the rest of the 2025 PRCA season after undergoing successful hip surgery this week in Nashville.
The Weatherford, Texas, bareback rider had been competing with a torn labrum in his hip, worsened by a bone spur that was breaking off and causing further damage. The lingering injury had been keeping Berry from performing at his full potential.
“I decided that it was probably time to get it fixed and cleaned up before I made things worse,” Berry shared.
With a strong team of surgeons behind him and the procedure now in the rearview, Berry is focused on recovery. Back home in Texas, he’s surrounded by support from his growing family, as he and his wife recently welcomed their first child.
Though sitting out the rest of the season wasn’t part of the plan, Berry is embracing this time to heal and enjoy life at home, grateful for the support and motivated for the comeback.
