The newest team roping duo in rodeo joined Western Sports Roundup to talk about their partnership and the goals they are setting for the 2025 rodeo season.
Dustin Egusquiza and JC Flake have hit the road running, picking up checks in Fort Smith, Mt. Pleasant and Durant the first weekend roping together.
Although new in the professional ranks, Flake and Egusquiza have been roping together in the practice pen for quite some time as brothers-in-law. They’ve both grown to admire eachother’s talent in the arena, Equsquiza on how good of horses JC has and how fast he can heel, and Flake on Dustin being one of the best ropers in the game.
Egusquiza has made it to the National Finals Rodeo seven times in his team roping career but his goal for 2025? Get there with Flake.
