The College National Finals Steer Roping just wrapped up in Clarendon, TX where Jate Saults reigned supreme to become a collegiate champion.
The Nebraska cowboy placed in all three go rounds which resulted in a time of 37.5 seconds on three head to win the average.
Saults currently attends college at Western Oklahoma State College where he is coached by 12x National Finals Steer Roping Qualifier Jess Tierney.
Saults is newer to the event of steer roping but after having success at the college level, he hopes to find himself at the National Finals Steer Roping in the future.
“I didn’t succeed in this event right away, I had to really work at it and working at it for three, four or five years, that makes that victory just mean that much more to me,” Saults said.
