Andrea Busby Leaves Elizabeth Stampede the Barrel Racing Champion

With a fast time of 15.30 seconds, Andrea Busby claimed the Barrel Racing Champion title at this year’s Elizabeth Stampede.

In the previous days leading up to slack where Busby competed, the arena saw incredibly muddy conditions, but the 2024 National Finals Rodeo Qualifier applauded the committee for getting the ground to a great spot where it was safe to compete and capitalized on the opportunity.

Currently ranked number four in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association World Standings, Busby has her eyes set on a return to Las Vegas for this year’s National Finals Rodeo. Backed by a trailer full of top tier horsepower, she’s gearing up for a busy summer run with the goal of staying high in the standings and continuing to collect checks.

“I didn’t go to California,” Busby explained. “I feel like I had a decent amount of money won so I could give my horses a break and really work on their health, their soundness, their fitness. I think you have to kind of pick and choose a little bit and have your horses peaked coming up to these summer months and its about to get really busy, so I wanted to make sure that they were fresh coming into the summer…”
