Dan Williams Jr and Cody Stewart had earned about $7,000 apiece in the 2023 seasons entering Redding and they nearly doubled that by winning the rodeo.
The California Circuit Finals Champions split the win in Round 1 with a time of 5.4 seconds and then split third in Round 2 with a 5.7. Their total time of 11.1 seconds won them the rodeo by three tenths. After pulling just four checks of $1,000 or more all season, they collected three in Redding for both rounds and the Average.
"(The pressure) wasn’t bad (in Round 2),” Stewart said. “I tried losing my rope right there, but got a wrap on there and it ended up being alright.”
