Tie-Down Roper Cooper Mathews Nabs First Win of 2022 in Parker County

Cooper Mathews made a big run on his brand new gelding at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days by stopping the clock at 8.3 seconds.

The time was good enough to win the one-head rodeo by more than a second and allowed Matthews who to collect his first check of more than $1,000 this season. It was also his fastest time of the season.

“He scores good, he runs really hard and he’s real easy. He doesn’t really get in your way and I just thought that was always a good thing to have,” Mathews said of his horse. “It helps the confidence a lot especially getting ready to go into the summer it’s good to have that.”
