Stetson Wright and Marty Yates couldn’t ask for a better start to their 2020 NFR. Both Wright and Yates have won each of the first two rounds.
In Tie-Down Roping Yates opened with a 7.1-second Round 1 which bested Shad Mayfield’s 7.5 second time. In Round two Yates was the quickest again, stopping the clock at 7.2 seconds for his second consecutive round win. While Yates still has a lot of ground to make up to catch Mayfield in the World Standings, the door has cracked open.
Rookie Ky Hamilton garnered a lot of headlines after a 90 point run vaulted him to first place in the World Standings, but it was Stetson Wright who won the round with a 90.5 point ride on Stockyards Pro Rodeo’s Silver Lining. In Round 2 Stetson outshined every other bull rider again with an 88.5 point ride capped by his now-signature home run swing celebration.
