It was in a different venue, but Dustin Egusquiza and Travis Graves tied for NFR immortality by putting together a blistering 3.8-second run to win Round Two at the Wrangler NFR.

EGUSQUIZA/GRAVES’ RUN

“I just got a good start and Travis sure heeled him fast and we got a really good finish,” Egusquiza said.

“Our run came together well,” his partner added.

Thursday night’s fastest run was 4.8 seconds in Round One but on Friday, there were four total runs faster than that, setting a new pace at Globe Lie Field.

Colby Lovell/Paul Eaves were 4.4, Nelson Wyatt/Levi Lord went 4.5 and Chad Masters/Wesley Thorp stopped the clock at 4.7.

“It’s really early in the week but we came in fairly high on the standings and placed in the first two rounds and it’s good to be moving up and getting closer to the top but there’s a lot of roping left, and we don’t want to do anything too crazy,” Egusquiza said.
