Layton Green climbed aboard Powder River Rodeo’s Party Planner to make an 86-point ride and take the lead in Round 1 of Reno Rodeo on Tuesday night and it held up through Thursday as First Round scores went final in bareback and saddle bronc riding.
“That was a horse of Powder River’s I didn’t know a lot about. A great big, bay horse, just what a guy wants. He’s big and strong and gives you a chance to win,” Green said.
It was a night full of not only horsepower brought to you by Powder River Rodeo, but the roster on the cowboys side was just as loaded, with all but one being National Finals qualifiers.
“It was pretty awesome. I think that puts fuel in the fire. Everybody rode good and the horses bucked, it was a great perf,” he said.
Green will be back for Saturday night’s Short Round as he is 165.5 on two, currently sitting third behind Kade Bruno (168) and Ross Griffin (167).
