Nikayla Brill Claims Resistol Rookie Roundup Breakaway Title

The Alabama cowgirl handled the pressure in the Finals

Nikayla Brill was the only breakaway roper with a qualified time in the Finals of the Resistol Rookie Roundup and locked in the win with a 2.9-second run Saturday night.

“I kind of had a softer calf and just wanted to go make the best run I could and be strong right there,” she said. “Being first out, I like that because you kind of go at ‘em.”

Brill also placed fourth in the Long Round and won more than $3,000 total at the Rookie Roundup.

The other three finalists were Ariana Verischetti, Shiloh Napp and Jayden Gould.
