Chance Rodriguez Wins Shootout and Finals on Way to Winning Resistol Rookie Roundup Tie-Down Roping

Rodriguez dominated Saturday in Cowtown Coliseum

Chance Rodriguez qualified second in the Long Round in the Reistol Rookie Roundup with an 8.7-second run on Friday and things got even better from there.

On Saturday night, Rodriguez was 9.5 to win the Shootout and then made a 7.7-second run in the Finals, the fastest winning time in the event’s three-year history.

Prior to the Rookie Roundup, Rodriguez had won just $512 this season, but with the win, he added $3,656 to his total in the Resistol Rookie Standings. The 25-year-old said that with this win and the support system he has behind, this could be a turning point for him.

Nick Achille took second with an 8.6 while Savion Ellis and Rio Nutter had no times in the Finals.
