Tyler Wade/Wesley Thorp Continue Push Toward Top of Standings With Playoff Win

Tyler Wade/Wesley Thorp were last out in the Short Round in Puyallup and used that to their advantage to make a 4.9-second run to beat out Tanner Tomlinson/Patrick Smith by two tenths of a second to snag $13,000 apiece.

“It was a huge advantage, just knowing all of the steers in the set were a lot better. Try to be smooth, honestly it’s been a really blessed win,” Wade said. “It’s easy with a good horse.”

Wade entered the weekend the No. 6 ranked header and will likely move into the Top 5 while Thorp will go from No. 3 to No. 2 on the heel side.

The pair has made more than $100,000 since 100 Rodeos in 100 Days began on June 15. That’s a testament to work in the practice pen on specific scenarios.

“It’s going our way,” Thorp said.
