Now with two go-round wins in their pockets, team ropers Tyler Wade and Trey Yates are No. 5 in the aggregate and are inching closer to the top of the World Standings.
The duo made a smart run in Round Seven stopping the clock at 3.9 seconds.
“I honestly think here, you have to get a good start and shape the steer up, shape the run up. There’s not enough arena to miss the barrier and reach so I try to set the run up for him and let him shut the run down,” Wade said.
Yates’s equine partner is part of why they can do exactly that and shut the clock off as quick as they do. With three rounds left, Wade and Yates have money left to be won.
