Stetson Wright Overtakes Saddle Bronc Riding Lead After Fourth Long Round Performance in Reno

No. 2 ranked saddle bronc rider Stetson Wright took the lead from No. 1 ranked saddle bronc rider Sage Newman in Reno on Monday night thanks to an 86 point ride that brought his two-head total to 173.5 points.

Wright was 87.5 points on his first horse, which put him second in Round 1 behind younger brother Statler.

“That was a pretty stout young horse, just glad I got to the whistle,” he said of (). “My brother one upped me...he’s whooping all of us big dogs.”

Wright has been awfully busy in Reno. Not only did he get on two horses in both rounds due to re-rides, he also leads the bull riding through four of eight Long Round performances.
