The International Finals Youth Rodeo is set to take place July 10-15, 2022 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
With just less than a month before it comes, General Manager Dale Yerigan said they are putting on the finishing touches for this year’s IFYR.
“It really is a huge event. This is actually the 30th year… thankfully we have about 300 volunteers there in Shawnee and the surrounding area that come in and dedicate their time… couldn’t do it with out them, for sure,” Yerigan said.
At the 2021 IFYR, the payout totaled around $280,000 and they are looking to increase that this year.
To be eligible for the IFYR you have to be 9th-12th grade pursuing a high school diploma, there are no qualifying rodeos. This allows for a unique blend of entries and is the perfect tune up for those that are going to National High School Finals.
Entries are open through June 15 on their website.
