Chase Brooks was 88 points on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s River’s Ghost to win Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days, which made the drive from Montana and time away from his newborn baby worth it.
“I was going to stay home for the week and give us more time until the summer run kicks off, but I saw that horse and knew I had to come,” he said.
Brooks was out in the first performance of the rodeo Wednesday night and his score held up for the ensuing three days of competition.
Sterling Crawley, Brady Hill and Isaac Diaz all made rides of 85 or more points to give Brooks a run, but ultimately, the closest anyone came was Crawley’s 86.5.
