Patrick Benson is an Infantry Sergeant in the US Army and Jake Greenlief is a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps. Benson is the Director and Co-founder of War Horses for Veterans while Greenlief does veterans outreach and equine management for the organization.
Benson comes from an equine background and knows from personal experience that horses can be life changing. The horses provide a feeling of relaxation while the organization allows veterans to be surrounded by like-minded people and brings back a brotherhood or sisterhood.
War Horses for Veterans starts as clinics and requires no equine experience for the veterans that come to them. There is no limit to what the individuals can and cannot do. This organization has allowed veterans to build a relationship with a horse while getting therapy from the horse as well.
