San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo: Bracket 5

The fifth and final bracket of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is here. Those advancing from this bracket will join the likes of Kaycee Feild, Kyle Irwin, Kaleb Driggers and Junior Noguiera, Brody Cress, Cory Solomon, Emily Beisel and Tristen Hutchings in the two sets of Semifinals that will take place later this week.

BAREBACK RIDING

R.C. Landingham is coming off a $5,000 win in Jackson, Mississippi and heading in San Antonio where he has Championship Pro Rodeo’s Sum Buck, Frontier Rodeo’s Short Night and Macza Pro Rodeo’s Dirty Looks. Landingham has been 86.5 points on Dirty Looks but the other two will be new matchesup for the California cowboy.

STEER WRESTLING

In a loaded field of bull doggers, four of them advanced on to the Final Round in 2022. Tyler Waguespack, Rowdy Parrott, Will Lummus and Dakota Eldridge know exactly what it takes to advance in this tournament style format and Lummus is coming off a big win in Fort Worth.

John Douch finished fourth in the Short Go in 2022 while Kincade Henry tied to win the Wildcard Round and Zack Jongbloed picked up a check after placing in a round. With only four spot left open for the Semifinals, these calf ropers will leave it all in the arena.

Dona Kay Rule and her two-time Horse of the Year, Valor are returning to AT&T Center to get redemption. After going all the way to the Short Round and finishing second in 2022, the fan favorite duo is back to do it all again only this time, leave with a championship.

BULL RIDING

Both Jeff Askey and Sage Kimzey had luck at the San Antonio Xtreme Bulls cahsing in on big rides. In Round 3 of this Bracket, Askey will face Frontier Rodeo’s County Jail who has six 90+ point rides made on him within the last two years. Kimzey has matched up with Frontier’s glory Days, a bull who has yet to be ridden this 2023 season.
