Kyle Irwin Takes Over Lead at Rodeo Austin

The steer wrestling at Rodeo Austin is getting faster and faster with every performance. Alabama’s Kyle Irwin took over the No. 1 spot on the leaderboard after stopping the clock at 3.8 seconds during Performance No. 4.

“You know, we were all able to look back at rodeos the past few weeks and I had a good idea that my steer was going to leave and go and be on top of the herd and he stayed true to that. I’m going to give a lot of credit to that horse, Tyson, Curtis hazing, you know, it was a good night,” Irwin said.

Rodeo Austin is a title that has eluded Irwin in his career and with seven performances left to fill the Top 24 that will come back to the Semifinals, Irwin’s 3.8 is hopefully enough to move him on, one step closer to a championship.
