JJ Hampton Impresses in First Run in Fort Worth

JJ Hampton continues to show that she is the best to ever do it. The 17-time World Champion stopped the clock at 2.0 seconds flat to win the opening Round of her Bracket in Fort Worth.

As impressive as her time was, at least one member of her family was not surprised by her time.

“When I drew that calf my son was like you’re going to be two flat. He called it. I love it when they go right, it’s a lot easier to rope them.”

Hampton had plenty of time to spare, winning the round by over a half second, but she didn’t let that cushion change her approach.

“I take two swings and throw it. When I got to second guessing my run and try to safety up I don’t do very good. I have been working on being JJ again and tonight it worked out and paid off.”

With the round win, Hampton won over $1,700 and is in the driver’s seat to advance to the next round in Fort Worth.
