Haven Meged Wins Second Consecutive Round in Cheyenne to Move to Finals

Haven Meged was 9.9 seconds in the Quarterfinal No. 4, which is still the fastest of this year’s Cheyenne Frontier Days so far and he followed it up in impressive fashion with a 10.2-second run to win the first Semifinal on Friday.

“They’re walking fresh and we knew these calves were smaller than the first round, just tried to set it up and get a good clean go,” Meged said of his patience in the Semifinals.

Based on his two Go-Round wins and a second place finish in the slack qualifier, the No. 2 ranked tie-down roper in the world has already added about $7,500 to his season earnings at The Dad.

Meged will return to compete in Sunday’s Finals along with Britt Bedke, Luke Potter, Quade Hiatt, Taylor Santos and Marcos Costa.

You can watch both Semifinal No. 2 Saturday and Championship Sunday at 2 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
