Kade Berry’s permit year started off like a dream. He got into the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo through the Uvalde qualifier. He went through San Antonio and made the Finals along with his older brother.
“A couple years ago, if you would have told me I was capable of that, I probably wouldn’t have believed you but to get to be on that stage, it kind of reassured that I belong there and that I’m capable of doing this,” Berry said.
Berry went on to make the Final round at more big rodeos throughout his permit year including the Daddy of ‘Em All and any time it didn’t go his way, he stepped back and took it as a learning experience.
Since the 2023 summer run, Berry picked up the Average win at the Texas Circuit Finals while his brother walked away with the year end title and then he set his goals for 2024, his rookie year. While gis top goal is to make the National Finals Rodeo and later claim his own Gold Buckle, Berry is keeping his mindset simple. His moto for the 2024 season is “whatever it takes”.
The youngest Berry now sits No. 6 in the Resistol Rookie Race.
