Cody Stampede: Recap, Highlights and Payouts

The Cody Stampede is known as the biggest one-header of the year and the rodeo paid out more than $350,000 in 2022.

In bareback riding, Cole Reiner rode Frontier’s Southern Star for 88.5 points in the final performance to get the win. Tilden Hooper, who also rode in the last perf, was second with 88.

In steer wrestling, it was good friends Kyle Irwin and Tyler Pearson splitting the win each stopping the clock at 3.4 seconds.

Team roping was won by Coleman Proctor/Logan Medlin. The pair was 4.3 to beat out Kaleb Driggers/Junior Nogueira and Tanner Tomlinson/Patrick Smith, both of those teams were 4.4.

The saddle bronc riding title was shared by a pair of veterans as seven-time NFR qualifier Zeke Thurston and four-time NFR qualifier Spencer Wright were both marked 87.5 points. Both of those cowboys are currently inside the Top 15.

In tie-down roping, Nebraska cowboy Riley Pruitt was the champion with a time of 7.7 seconds. Pruitt also won the Eugene Pro Rodeo (Oregon) over the Fourth and is up to No. 17 in the PRCA World Standings.

Leslie Smalygo was the fastest barrel racer as she set the pace at 17.02 seconds after the first performance and was untouched the rest of the way.

And in bull riding, Brady Portenier exploded for one of the highest scores of the year by going for 92.5 points on Frontier’s Glory Days.
