Tie-Down Roper Luke Potter Gets Career Defining Win at Cheyenne Frontier Days

Luke Potter ended up in the money in both Go-Rounds of Cheyenne and the Semifinals before he stopped the clock at 10.6 seconds on Championship Sunday to take home the win.

“A lot of luck, I imagine, is what went into it. You have to have some good calves over here to do good and I’ve had a bunch of good calves this week so I was plum tickled,” he said.

John Douch and Britt Bedke were both three tenths off Potter’s pace.

Potter credits his dad with being his best friend and biggest supporter making this Cheyenne Frontier Days win even sweeter as Potter’s dad was there to watch.

Going into the Daddy of ‘Em All, Potter sat just outside the Top 20 in the PRCA World Standings, but will likely be inside it when his $15,000+ from Cheyenne is officially tallied.
