Clay Smith and Jake Long have added one more title from the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo to their resumes.
With a time of 3.9 seconds in the Final Round, Smith and Long made their fastest run of the rodeo to be the Champions. It was Long’s fourth time winning Denver and Smith’s third, but this win was extra special.
“This is for my Grandpa and, I mean, I had God on my side but this was a special win for that. I was trying not to put too much pressure on myself but the dear Lord was watching out for me,” Smith said.
It was a quick round of team roping in the Finals but Long said they chose to step it up. The duo did just that and now, both Smith and Long are the No. 7 ranked in the PRCA World Standings.
