Bridger Anderson Wins First California Rodeo Salinas Championship

Bridger Anderson was 19.2 seconds on three head to become the 2022 California Rodeo Salinas Steer Wrestling Champion. In the Short Go he stopped the clock at 6.5 to finish second behind Tucker Allen but Salinas is an average game and Anderson was faster.

“That was awesome, words can’t describe it,” Anderson said.

Anderson’s first Salinas Championship came in true bulldogger fashion with congratulations coming from all around.

“It’s been good this week, rode a good horse of Jesse Brown’s, Q-Ball, Quinn Campbell did a great job hazing. I had three good steers, I wasn’t sure I got out right there, gave a big pull, but it worked out,” he said.

Anderson sits just outside the Top 15 in the World Standings at No. 18 and with two more months left in the regular season, there is a good chance that Anderson takes the momentum from Salinas and hits the road running into the Top 15.
