Ty Erickson was the top cowboy in the first performance of The Calgary Stampede with a time of 4 seconds flat to win Pool A, Round 1.
“When I was coming across, I was a tick wide, I ended up having to jump at him a little bit which wasn’t what I wanted to do, but sometimes it happens,” Erickson said. “Once I caught his head, I was just trying to keep him lifted up as much as I could.”
Erickson won $5,500 for his round win and will compete three more times in Pool A. The Top 4 cowboys in both pools based on money earned automatically advance to Championship Sunday.
