Rookie Tie-Down Roper Tom Crouse Moves Leader Board at Greeley Stampede

Tom Crouse is third in the Resistol Rookie Standings and he was 8.0 seconds in Monday night’s performance of the Greeley Stampede to be the fast tie-down roper of the night.

“I knew I had a really good calf and I just knew I had to get out of the barrier and get on him and then just slow down and not make any mistakes,” he said.

After being a 9.1 in Round 1, Crouse knew he had to make up some time in Round 2 and he did just that.

“I’m just very blessed for the calves I’ve drawn now and hopefully I can make it back and maybe draw one more and maybe get a piece of it,” Crouse said.

The format of the Greeley Stampede in timed events is two long rounds and one short and with two more performances to go, Crouse waits it out to see if he will come back in Greeley on Thursday.
