Marty Yates Moves Into Top 5 After Guymon Pioneer Days Win

Marty Yates placed in all three rounds and was 8.8 seconds on his final run to seal his first tie-down roping rodeo win in 2022 at Guymon Pioneer Days.

“Right before the summer run, we get started right here, it’s nice to be getting started on the right foot,” he said. “We all like these rodeos that are two and three-headers...It’s fun to come to one place and rope a bunch of good calves.”

Yates also won Guymon in 2014 when he was just 19-years-old. The win won him close to $10,000 and put him in fifth place in the PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Standings.
