19-Year-Old Kincade Henry Takes Redding

Kincade Henry may be just 19-years-old, but he is already making a name for himself in Tie-Down Roping. Henry currently sits in 8th place in the World Standings after a big win in Redding over the weekend. As many cowboys do, Henry credits his horse for his recent run of success.

“Oh shoot, he is just a winner and it seems like I always draw good on him... He is so fast across the line, he is so easy to score. It’s easy to win on him. Actually, Ryan Jarrett rode him as well and I think he finished third in the average. It was a good day for ol’ Darrell.”

Henry finds himself inside the top-10 now and admits to watching the standings a bit.

“It’s pretty sweet to look at the world standings and see your name up there, but I am going to keep my head down. It don’t matter what it says until October first.”

After Henry roped at Redding he went to his brother’s graduation party where he and his family waited to see if his average time would hold.

“My grandparents rented out a little house we could all stay in and we were sitting there in the shop and we were watching it. As soon as I won it everybody was all happy. It is something I will remember for a long time being my first tour rodeo win.”
