Tie-down roper Ryan Jarrett shares why he always enters the team roping in Guymon

Although he is usually just a tie-down roper, 13-time NFR qualifier Ryan Jarrett secured the All-Around Title at the Guymon Pioneer Days for the second time in his career.

Jarrett was 8.1 to win the Final Round in Guymon in the tie-down roping and finish second in the Aggregate. In the team roping, he paired with fellow tie-down roper Marty Yates to finish seventh in Round 1 and earn a check.

Jarrett does not enter the team roping often, in fact, Guymon was his first time heading professionally since 2019.

“Ninenty-eight percent of the time they rope muleys and if they don’t, they rope fresh horned cattle and this makes it a little different, I always like to try my luck,” he said. “It’s outside, big arena, calfs are always good, fun rodeo atmosphere.....I enjoy Guymon and always have.”

In total, Jarrett won almost $10,000 at the rodeo.
