Ferron Lucero gives an overview of the USTRC National Finals

The U.S. Team Roping Championship’s Director of Customer Service and Digital Integration Ferron Lucero stopped by The Cowboy Channel’s Justin Boot studio to go through the event by the numbers with Amy Wilson.

As of Thursday night, 3,177 teams had competed and $1.4 million had been paid out and they are only about halfway through the event, which runs until Sunday, May 2.

“Those are big numbers for a recreational sport, we’ve got businessmen that have come from across the country, got their horses, they’ve been honing their skills,” Lucero said. “Team roping is just on fire.”

Lucero also mentioned how exciting it is to see some of the PRCA’s elite ropers compete with different partners and on different sides.

“You’ll see Chad Master go grab a heel rope, we got to see Junior Nogueira head......It’s just so neat to see.”

The event is in its 32nd year and has been held in Fort Worth the last two years. You can see more details and results here.
