4X World Champion Bronc Rider Clint Johnson

A saddle bronc from South Dakota, Clint Johnson began his rodeo career at a 4-H rodeo at just 10 years old. He qualified for the High School Finals in South Dakota all four years of high school and twice made it to the National High School Finals.

On the Pro circuit, Clint qualified for the NFR 12 years in a row, during which he won four World Titles, and he has since been inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.

Looking back on his bronc riding days, Clint says: “It’s eight seconds where you’re kind of on top of the world. It’s not about strength. It’s about timing and balance. And it’s, as Casey Tibbs would say, it’s like dancing with a pretty girl.”

Clint talks about his rodeo career, the friends he made, how his luck changed for the better after meeting his wife, and what it was like to compete at the National Finals Rodeo.
