Stetson Wright Cruises to another Buckle in Cheyenne

Stetson Wright cruised through the first two rounds of the Cheyenne Frontier Days without making much noise, but on Championship Sunday he showed up in a big way in the saddle bronc riding.

Wright posted an 88-point ride, besting Lefty Holman by .5 points and earning another buckle at the Daddy of ‘em All.

“I just had a really good horse and was pretty lucky with the way it ended,” Wright said after getting the win.

Wright, who had struggled coming back from injury, says he just had to trust himself and his wrist after surgery.

“I tried to play it off like it wasn’t a big deal, but I guess deep down inside I knew it was bugging me. I bucked off seven horses in a row for me to get it through my head that it wasn’t hurting anymore.”

Wright is running away with the All-Around title, and currently sits in second place in Saddle Bronc Riding and first in Bull Riding.
