Andrea Busby Wins First Career CFD just Minutes from Where She Grew Up

Andrea Busby grew up in Wyoming, driving by the Cheyenne Frontier Days Arena countless times as a child. Now, she can call herself a Champion of the rodeo she grew up dreaming about competing in.

“This is home, this will always be home, I grew up just down the road. You drive by this place a thousand times and think,’ man I want to do good there.’ Thank you, Lord.”

Busby stopped the clock at 17.13 seconds to capture the title and the $8,000 check that goes along with it. Busby talked about her horse and how surprised she was at her performance.

“That mare is just blowing us away. This is literally her fifth rodeo performance. My husband Jeff and I raised her, Sue Smith trained her. I guess she likes Cheyenne.”

It was an emotional win, says Busby, who recently lost her uncle.

“I lost my uncle two days ago after I ran here. I just feel like he was with me today.”
