Shane Hanchey and Iron are Coming for a San Antonio Title

Shane Hanchey won the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo in 2019 and it looks like it could happen again. The World Champion tie-down roper was the fastest of the night with a 7.7 to get the win in his Semifinals.

“I knew if I got in there… Iron would take care of it. I flanked her so fast, I just put two wraps on her hoping to advance. It worked out,” Hanchey said.

With the horse trouble that Hanchey has had recently, Iron seems to be fitting him just right. The horse worked the rope well in the Semifinals and Hanchey was sure to reward his equine partner before even leaving the arena.

“I always want them to make sure they know they did a good job and to relieve any kind of pressure… that’s my main goal,” Hanchey said.

We will see Hanchey and Iron back in AT&T Center on Saturday night along with Matt Shiozawa, Cooper Martin, Cory Solomon and Shad Mayfield.
