Rich Skelton is an eight-time World Champion whose daughter is already making an impact in professional rodeo at the ripe age of 18 years old.
With a home bred, raised and trained mare that she calls Jewel, Rainey’s summer plans include picking where she runs strategically to benefit her mare.
“She’s super cool, I trained her, we raised her. I ran her mom and it’s all been in the family,” Rainy said.
The duos accolades already include winning the Women’s World Championship Rodeo in Las Vegas and winning the CPRA All-Around before Rainey even left for college.
“You always want her to follow in your footsteps and do good. And the cool thing is she has a really nice horse and she has a good chance and so I wish her all the luck. I went to the rodeo last night and get to watch her and, you know, it’s a diffferent avenue but it’s very cool for me,” Rich said.
On top of her barrel racing, Rainey also ropes and if you ask her dad, she is just a natural.
Rich is also taking a chance to get back into rodeo while also working his clinics. We just might see him on the road this summer.
