Red Bluff Champion Tuf Cooper on new horse Blanco

4X World Champion Tuf Cooper didn’t end the 2020 season the way he would have wanted.

Placing in three out of ten total, he didn’t get at round win until night nine at the NFR and finished No. 8 in the world standings.

But 2021 is a new year, and Tuf is proving he’s still got it. He’s currently leading in San Angelo and recently took the title at the Red Bluff Roundup.

We caught up with Tuf after his big win in Red Bluff, California, where he went 9.2 seconds in the short round to finish first — and he did it on a new horse.

Blanco, a nine-year-old gray gelding trained by tie-down roper Cade Swor may just be the secret ingredient to Tuf securing another world title. “He fits me like peas and carrots,” Tuf said. “It makes my job so easy. I’m really relaxed and able to just take the approach that I like, to go for first and be smart about it.”
