It was Clovis Rodeo’s payout that pushed multiple cowboys closer to that Top 15 while one in particular jumped to No. 5 in the world. Rookie Keenan Hayes is continuing to impress as he crossed the $100,000 mark with this week’s earnings to help the bareback riding standings continue to take shape.
No. 2 Keenan Hayes, $101,929
Hayes set the bar at Clovis Rodeo during the first performance with an 86.5-point ride on Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ Bronc Riding Nation. He ended up third in the rodeo, which made the ride worth $5,777 and gave him the momentum to come into the Resistol Rookie Roundup swinging. After a sixth place finish in the First Round, he advanced to the Semifinals where he made an 86-point ride before capturing the title in the Finals. He left Fort Worth with another $2,800 added to his earnings.
No. 5 Clayton Biglow, $50,152
Capitalizing at four different rodeos, Biglow was able to jump from No. 12 in the standings to No. 5 and he did so in his home state. It started at the Lakeside Rodeo with an 85.5-point winning ride worth $2,233. From there it was a third place finish at the Gold County Pro Rodeo and another win at the Springville Sierra Rodeo with an 85-point ride. Biglow’s biggest win came at the Clovis Rodeo where his 87.5-point ride on C5 Rodeo’s She-La earned him a $10,194 payday.
No. 19 Caleb Bennett, $23,897
Bennett’s second place finish at Clovis Rodeo pushed him from being the 30th ranked bareback rider in the PRCA World Standings to inside the Top 20. Aboard Burch Rodeo’s Hell’s Fire on Sunday afternoon, Bennett made an 87-point ride to be just half a point behind the winner, Clayton Biglow.
