The National High School Finals Rodeo and the National Junior High Finals Rodeo are on as scheduled.
“We just want to make sure everybody knows that we’re going to be there,” NHSRA Executive Director James Higginbotham said.
The High School Finals will be from July 18-24 at the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln, Nebraska and the Junior High Finals will be from June 20-26 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Additionally, the National Junior High Finals in Des Moines from June 20-26 are on as well. Higginbotham says he and other members of the NHSRA team have made three trips to each location and have been monitoring what happens with restrictions every 2-3 weeks.
“We all want to be safe, you know, there’s no doubt about that.....But the young people are excited to have some place to go and we are double excited to have some place for them to go,” Higginbotham said.
Lincoln and Des Moines were supposed to host these events in 2020, but the High School Finals were moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma and the Junior High Finals were canceled.
