Kade Sonnier, Cole Reiner and Clayton Biglow Crowned Cheyenne Frontier Days Bareback Riding Champions

Three cowboys walked away with the title from the 127th Cheyenne Frontier Days in the bareback riding. After each making an 87.5-point ride, Kade Sonnier, Cole Reiner and Clayton Biglow split the win.

Sonnier, who also won The Calgary Stampede, has been riding a wave of momentum that has put him No. 3 in the PRCA World Standings and No. 2 in the Resistol Rookie Race.

“You know, the Fourth of July has been awesome. I’ve been able to get on great horses and I’ve been fortunate to be able to do my job and feel healthy. It doesn’t get any better than to win two of the greatest rodeos ever. It’s truly a blessing,” Sonnier said.

Reiner was the home state hero at Cheyenne. The Wyoming cowboy matched up with New Star Pro Rodeo’s Chosen One in the Short Round.

“I’m very proud to represent the state of Wyoming and couldn’t be happier to win it in front of this crowd and these fans, you know, they support me all year round and I love this rodeo. This Short Round is electric, you know, it’s a pretty special moment and something you dream of as a little kid,” Reiner said.

As for Biglow, he is now a two-time Cheyenne Frontier Days Champion and the veteran of the three.

“It feels great. Winning this rodeo is like none other. Being the fourth guy out and having to sweat through all these rookies, it’s something else and I didn’t think it was going to stay on top but we got lucky and I’m just happy to be here,” he said.
