Jessica Routier and Missy Lay Down Fastest Run of Rodeo Austin in Semifinals

Jessica Routier and her palomino mare, Missy, flew at Rodeo Austin. During the first performance of Rodeo Austin Semifinals, the National Finals duo laid down the fastest run of the entire rodeo with a time of 14.93 seconds.

“She must’ve been running really fast because we actually got by first a little bit but sometimes I think it’s better to do that in these trappy little pens because it keeps your momentum going for the rest of the run so. Second and third we definitely got close to, which I don’t like to do, but I guess close is fast,” she said.

To make things even sweeter for Routier, she topped the leaderboard in the barrels while her husband’s cousin, Joey Williams, was the fastest in the breakaway roping. Both cowgirls have two more performances of Semifinals to wait through before the Top 8 is set, however, the cards are in their favor to return for the Final Round.
