Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week: Bull Rider Luke Mast Scores Big in San Antonio

Luke Mast has had an impressive trip to San Antonio and it has already paid off in a huge way.

Kansas cowboy Luke Mast went into San Antonio barely inside the Top 30 in the World with $14,000 in earnings. After being the only qualified ride in the Short Go of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Xtreme Bulls, he has doubled his earnings to be your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.

An 82-point ride in the Long Round aboard Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Smokin Again did not land him in the money for the round but it did land him in the Short Go. This was the opportunity that Mast capitalized on when he stacked up against one of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s top bulls, Bayou Bengal.

When the Short Go rolled around, Mast would be the only cowboy to make the eight second whistle and it would be an 86-point bull ride worth $20,000.

The prize money from the Xtreme Bulls win doubled Mast’s season earnings but he is not done yet at Frost Center Bank. Two go-round wins in Bracket 1 of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo earned Mast $5,000 making him the No. 1 bull rider in Bracket 1 to advance to the Semifinals on Feb. 22-23.

Mast’s momentum in San Antonio has only picked up and he will return with a chance for even more before the week is done. Mast is your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
