Garrett Smith and Stetson Jorgensen compete on opposite sides of the arena but the two have a long history.
Both growing up in Idaho, they have come up the ranks of rodeo together. From riding calves to roping and traveling together, they have done it all. That includes each other’s events. Garrett Smith won a high school National Championship in steer wrestling while Stetson Jorgensen rode bulls before taking up steer wrestling as a freshman in college.
“We’ve battled it out ever since we were little,” Smith said.
Smith is the No. 4 bull rider in the world while Jorgensen is sitting No. 1 in the steer wrestling. Both are Thomas and Mack bound and will be cheering each other on the whole way.
