World No. 18 Dona Kay Rule won the Gooding Pro Rodeo with a time of 16.76. She told Ty McClary and Anthony Russo on WSR this week she can tell when her and her two-time Horse of the Year Valor are really clocking.
“When he launches from barrel run that’s my gauge right there and then my job is to get on by barrel two,” she said with a laugh.
Rule also discussed what Valor’s fall in Calgary and what her horse means to her, the bubble race and more.
"(This season has) been a little rough, but my job is to do my job and pay attention to what’s going on around me, I wouldn’t have him out here if I thought something was wrong with him,” she said. “I feel like he’s doing pretty good.”
