As one of the last cowboys out, Ky Hamilton bested the 90 and 88.5 point rides that were already on the board on Monday afternoon with 92.5 aboard Stace Smith’s Fire Ant.
“I seen Stetson (Wright) ride him here last year and I knew he was going to be a good one and I knew was going to have to work for it,” Hamilton said.
Hamilton also praised Wright, his traveling partner, for improving his mental outlook on bull riding.
“We’re just always confident about things and positive and driving down the road, we’re just always talking about how we can ride better and how we can win better,” Hamilton said. “When you got someone like that around you all of the time, it definitely makes you better.
The aforementioned 90 was from Cody Teel and the 88.5 was from Creek Young. They are both moving onto the Semifinals as well. Parker Breding rounds out those advancing.
At Cheyenne Frontier Days the Semifinals are made up of the Top 4 from six different Long Round performances. You can watch the action through the Finals on July 31 on The Cowboy Channel and PRCA on Cowboy Channel+.
