Trent Creager has competed at the Cheyenne Frontier Days around 15 times he says, and that experience helped him to advance to the Semifinals after an 11.5-second run won him the round on Sunday.
“I knew I had a good calf, Blaine Cox tied that calf at 11 in the long round. When you have a good calf in Cheyenne you just don’t beat yourself.”
Creager and the rest of the field were battling muddy conditions, something Creager didn’t expect.
“It looks good from riding around on the track and I didn’t know it was that deep. My horse really stuck in the mud and threw me down.”
Creager was four-tenths of a second faster than Zaine Mikita to win the round and $2,000.
