Dinosaur Roundup: Recap and Highlights

The Dinosaur Roundup in Vernal, Utah had some of the biggest names in rodeo leave as their 2022 Champions.

It starts with eight-time National Finals Rodeo bareback rider Tilden Hooper and Powder River Rodeo’s Shade Tree. The two matched up to be 86.5 points and add almost $4,000 to Hooper’s season earnings. Jacek Frost was second and Caleb Bennett ended up third.

NFR cowboy Clayton Hass got the win in the steer wrestling with a 3.6-second run while Caden Camp was the next fastest with a 3.8. Rowdy Parrott and Tyler Waguespack also pulled a check to add to their earnings.

A 4.2-second run came from Coy Rahlmann and Douglas Rich in the team roping to make them the champions. They cashed in almost $3,000 each while Tanner Tomlinson and Patrick Smith were second with a 4.5-second run.

CoBurn Bradshaw and Powder River Rodeo’s Miss Valley matched up in the saddle bronc riding to top the leader board with am 88.5-point ride to take home the win. Ryder Wright was second with an 87.5 and Canada’s Ben Anderson took home the third-place money.

Shad Money Mayfield continues his success this summer with a 7.9-second run to add $5,000 to his season winnings and help keep him No. 1 in the world. Zack Kirkpatrick’s 8.1 earned him second while Shane Hanchey and AJ Jordan tied for third. ‘

Delaney Kunau roped a fast 2.3 in the breakaway roping to win almost $5,500 while the newly crowned college champion, Bryana Lehrmann, finished second with a 2.4-second run.

In the barrel racing it was reigning World Champion Jordon Briggs and the famous Rollo who laid down the fastest run of 17.21 while Kailee Murdock was hot on their heels with a 17.25. Briggs currently sits No. 1 in the world while Murdock is in the Top 50 and climbing.
